Job Description
Manage day-to-day control room activities by continuously monitoring system alerts, addressing batch job failures, and resolving incidents in line with defined operational procedures. Handle scheduling operations using Control-M, including pausing, releasing, and restarting jobs as required. Oversee batch workflows to ensure timely completion of critical processes and escalate any deviations impacting service level agreements.
Work closely with z/OS environments by reviewing system logs, performing initial issue analysis, and coordinating with advanced support teams when deeper investigation is needed. Execute key operational tasks such as system restarts, maintenance activities, and IPL processes to maintain system stability.
Track system performance using monitoring tools and promptly communicate any irregularities to senior team members. Manage incident records and service requests through ServiceNow, ensuring all updates are accurate and completed within shift timelines.
Provide operational support to data center activities, including resolving batch processing issues and handling peripheral concerns like printer failures. Assist during critical scenarios such as data center outages and recovery events.
Respond to user and client queries through multiple channels such as calls, emails, and collaboration tools, ensuring adherence to response and resolution timelines. Follow escalation protocols diligently and maintain clear, well-documented communication, especially during shift transitions.
Key Responsibilities
The Systems Administrator in Technology Operations plays a key role in maintaining smooth day-to-day control room functions within a mainframe environment. This includes overseeing batch job execution, monitoring system performance, and handling incidents to ensure uninterrupted business operations. The role focuses on maintaining system reliability, supporting time-critical processes, and ensuring service level targets are consistently met through timely escalation and resolution of issues.
Working in coordination with senior team members and subject matter experts, the associate is responsible for initial troubleshooting, executing standard operational tasks, and providing prompt assistance to internal stakeholders. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring, effective issue management, and strong communication to ensure seamless operational support.
